This globe, my first, shows the world as Europeans mapped it in the mid-seventeenth century. During this period, California was frequently depicted as an island, Australia was barely explored, and Antarctica was anybody's guess. I made a second version of this globe for the New York Public Library's colection. Beause it was featured in the short-lived magazine Men's Vogue, we call it the Vogue Globe.
